Genocide Of Christians

QUOTE
U.S. Representative Dana Rohrabacher (R-Cal.) has said that for the minorities such as Sikhs and Kashmiris “India might as well be Nazi Germany.”

“The mere fact that they have the right to choose their oppressors does not mean they live in a democracy.” – Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-NY)

“This is the world’s biggest genocide ever”, says Chetan Sharma, founder of the Delhi-based organisation Datamation

Prelude:

India’s Hidutva religion, and laws, are based on Their Scheduled Caste System, where Brahmins and Jains are in the highest order, and Shudra and Dalits are in the lowest. Dalits, who have no life, voice, or say in India, began conversions; Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity.

The Brahmins lost their slaves, and couldn’t fathom that change.

What followed was a massacre that would put any genocide in history to shame.

The Dalits tired of thousands of years of discrimination turned to Jesus Chris and Christianity to save them from the Hinduvata tyranny imposed on them. However Jesus could not save them in this world. The Hinduists hunted them, hounded them, massacred them, raped them and have perpetuated a genocide on Dalits in general and Christian Dalits in particular. Orissa Christians, largely Dailts, have been heavily persecuted since Christmas of 2007 and now again in August 2008.

History is usually written by the victors. The Dalits have not had a voice for thousands of years. The Dalit discrimination has to be aired by all peace loving people on the planet. Many Dalits believe that the discrimination perpetuated against them for centureis is based on thier ethnicity and the color of their skin. Dalit leaders have proposed that their status in the Hindu caste system is based on their Dravidian roots. Dalits leaders are openly calling for the mass conversion of the 150 million Dalits to Islam which would offer them equality. The Hinduvata reaction to the conversion of Dalits is ferocious and violent. The poor penury stricken Dalits must remain in bondage for perpetuity! This dated article lists the atrocities against the Dalits. Rape and murder have been institutionalized. 3 to 6 million women have been raped for being Dalit. 3 million Dalits have been killed for being Dalit. Indian secularism has not touched the 150-250 million Dalits or the 150 million Muslims.

Sudra Holocaust: Genocide of 1 million Dalits in India since 1947: About three million Dalit women have been raped and around one million Dalits killed from the time of Independence. This is 25 times more than number of soldiers killed during the wars fought after independence. That is why Dalits do not need Aryan culture or Hindu Dharma based on caste any more. …” [Dr. Tulsiram]

The Dalits are at the lowest rung of the ladder in India. It is an atrocity to which many Indian leaders have paid lip service to but in actuality done nothing. There is some tokenism, but the size of the ongoing travesty of justice has no parallel in human history. Nowhere in the world have so many people been discriminated for such a long time–3,500 years.

“The 1991 Government survey of India states that on an average day, two Dalits are killed, three Dalit women are raped, two Dalits’ houses are burned and fifty Dalits are assaulted by people of a higher caste.”

Dalits then decided to convert to Christianity and Islam, to evade opression by the Hindutva Terrorists Scheduled Caste System.
It was unacceptable to the Idol Worshippers.

What followed was the ethnic cleansing of Christians and Muslims.
The peacefull Dalits were not left alone, how dare they defy the Pagan laws!

August 2008 - Orissa: Hindu extremists burn one nun alive, rape another

Dalts converts to Islam, Christianity face murder, rape in India :
The Dalit are considered as untouchable in Hinduism. When the Dalits convert to religions where they are guaranteed equality they are hounded and harassed. The Dalits who converted to Christianity Orissa face church burnings, gang rape, and murder at will. The Dalits who convert to Islam are branded as terrorists and charged under POTA and other draconian laws. As “terrorists” the ex Dalits face fake encounters, torture and death by the Indian agencies. The Maoist belt from Nepal running down to Andhra Pradesh is made of millions of Dalits (figures rnage from 250 million to 450 million). They are up in arms against the central government of India and control more than 40% of the Indian land mass.

India: Massacre of Christians Planned?
By Nirmala Carvalho
10/11/2008
Asia News
Do Hindu radicals have a program for expunging Christians from the region and reconverting tribals and pariahs to Hinduism?

BHUBANESHWAR, India (AsiaNews) - The campaign of attacks against Christians in Orissa was planned for months. This is the claim of Lenin Raghuvanshi, director of the People’s Vigilance Committee on Human Rights. Mr. Raghuvanshi visited Orisa as part of of a fact-finding team for the European commission for the prevention of torture.

Speaking to AsiaNews, he says that “In the Kandhamal district, it is very clear that a cleansing of marginalized Christian populace is taking place by RSS, BajrangDal and VHP cadres (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad).”

The wave of violence has so far killed 61 people, injured 18,000, destroyed 4,500 homes, and burned and razed 181 churches. It was apparently motivated by the killing of Swami Laxamananda Saraswati, a leader of the VHP, last August 23. He was killed by a group of Maoists, but Hindu fundamentalist groups immediately accused the Christians of the assassination.

“In fact, on August 14,” Raghuvanshi explains, “nearly 10 days before the death of Swami Laxamanada, a mob of RSS people came to Sahasipudar village and threatened the people of the perils of following the Christian faith . These extremists also warned the margnisalised Christian community that henceforth the Gita [editor's note: one of the sacred books of Hinduism] was their sacred book.”

In Orissa, campaigns to reconvert Christian tribals and pariahs back to Hinduism date back for decades. The swami killed in August was himself a fierce promoter of this. Last December, on Christmas eve, he was the one who had pushed for new attacks against Christians, in which 13 homes were burned and 3 people killed, while thousands of faithful were forced to flee.

“After the December anti-Christian violence,” Raghuvanshi says, “three families converted to Hinduism out of fear. It is most unfortunate, in a broken down church the picture of Swami Laxamandanda has been installed.”

Mr. Lenin Raghuvanshi recently won the “Acha Peace Star” prize for his efforts for reconciliation among communities in India. Commenting further on the violence in Orissa and on his work with the fact-finding mission, he says: “We were witnesses to most deplorable and inhuman atrocities, most probably, these fundamentalists forces are whipping up communal frenzy with a view to the state elections scheduled next year. Here elections are won at the cost of human lives - how much lower can humanity stoop?”

NEWS ALERT: India Militants Massacre Christian Dalits
Tuesday, August 29, 2006 (6:16 pm)

The Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC), a major Indian advocacy group, told BosNewsLife there are indications that “six persons belonging to a Dalit Christian family” were killed late Monday, August 28, on a riverbank near Shivbigha village, located in the Palamau district of the Indian state of Jharkand.

It said militant Lalan Paswan of a nearby village, “along with his accomplices stormed the house of Ram Dinesh and [captured] all the seven family members, including four children.”

GCIC, which has close contacts with local Christians in the region, said militants accused the family of “practicing voodoo” and dragged them “to the bank of the Sone river” where they disappeared.

BODIES DISSAPEARED

Palamau Police Superindent Udayen Kumar Singh reportedly said that the search for the bodies was ongoing. “Though the body was not found, the profuse blood stains at six different places on the river bank lead to the conclusion that the criminals might have killed these people and threw their bodies in the river” he was quoted as saying.

The apparent survivor, Ram Dinesh, is “undergoing treatment” in a local state hospital, GCIC said. Names and more details about the victims were not immediately released. The reported family massacre came shortly after five other Dalits were “lynched to death” in the northern Indian state of Haryana for skinning a cow, sacred to Hindus, GCIC added.

“Police and local authorities looked on while extremists massacred and burned the victims. They were lynched to death by a furious mob for skinning a cow…” in the Dulena area of Jhajjar district in Haryana state, well-informed GCIC President Sajan George told BosNewsLife.

EXPRESSING SHOCK

He stressed that his organization “expresses its shock and anguish at the brutal murder of five Dalits in the northern Indian state Haryana and six Dalits in Jharkhand” and that it has urged the Indian President to intervene.

“This is one of the most inhuman acts that have been carried out by the murderers in the name of religion and a mighty majority. We deplore such acts, which make the lives of innocent and poor people miserable by taking away the members of the family who earn their daily livelihood for the family.”

Church groups and rights investigators have linked the attacks to growing frustration among Hindu groups about the spread of Christianity among Dalits, the lowest caste in India’s ancient system of Hinduism and often described by militants as the “untouchables.”

MORE INCIDENTS

However GCIC and other groups say Jesus Christ especially loves those viewed as outcastes by society. Besides Dalit Christians, other believers are reportedly persecuted. Among other reported latest incidents was news that on August 20, extremists burst into a church service of the Good Shepherd Community Church in Kolar district of Karnataka, beating the pastor and his assistant.

In Andhra Pradesh state, police on August 21, reportedly arrested a Catholic priest, Mathew Kunnel, for allegedly burning portraits of Hindu deities. Earlier on August 20 in the Mangaon area of Rewa district in another state, Madhya Pradesh, militants attacked a church service run bt Pastor Vijay Kumar of the Gospel Echoing Missionary Services congregation, Indian Christians said.

The troubles apparently began after the pastor started when one couple brought a sick five-year-old boy to the front of the church for prayer. Enraged by the continuation of the service, some of the extremists entered the hall, grabbed the young boy and twisted his arm while they shouted at the pastor, Christian news agency Compass Direct News reported.

THREATENING BLOODSHED

“Stop this now! Leave this place, or the next time there will be bloodshed,” the Hindu militants were quoted as saying. The police reportedly later detained and interrogated Mourya to explain the activities of his congregation of roughly 50 members, news reports said.

There are concerns among mission groups that the violence will further increase following the adoption in several Indian states to prevent “forced conversions.” Critics claim the legislation is used to make it more difficult for missionaries, church leaders and others to preach the Gospel. Evangelicals see preaching the Gospel to anyone interested, including those from other religions, as an integral part of their faith in Christ.

The police detained the Christians, and not the Hindutva Terrorists, very coincidental with militant techniques.

India: Genocide Nation

India is the first country in the 21st century to have a massive genocide: 2,000 burned alive in 2002.
In Kashmir this month, Indian soldiers shoot and kill an aging Kashmiri politician during a peaceful protest. Four years ago, a European priest and his son were burned alive by long-haired, saffron-clad Hindu religious workers. Welcome to secularism’s false prophet, a nation of rising religious extremism, two dozen raging freedom movements, all hidden under the mask of a colorful film industry that provides distraction for a troubled country.

Persecution in India is ‘Religious Genocide,’ Says Ministry
By Ethan Cole
Christian Post Reporter

The persistent and vicious attacks against Christians in India have a Christian ministry leader who has been going into the persecution hotspot of Orissa state calling the violence “religious genocide.”

“This has been a religious genocide according to the U-N definition of genocide, where persistently and systematically it is planned and not stopped,” maintains Ramesh Landge, founder and director of Cooperative Outreach of India (COI), according to Mission Network News.

“It falls in that category of genocide, and we do agree with that.”

Landge, whose ministry works with U.S.-based Partners International, has been visiting the eastern state of Orissa, where the anti-Christian campaign is most fierce, to help the displaced Christians there.

More than 50,000 Christians have been displaced by the violence, and 30,000 of them live in relief camps while others hide in the jungles.

Since mid-August, over 4,000 Christian homes, churches and businesses have been destroyed by Hindu militant mobs. The number killed in the clashes, overwhelmingly Christian, range from 40 to nearly 100 depending on the source.

“There has been a lot of intimidation. There has been a lot of persecution. People have not been able to go back [to their homes],” Landge said. “If they do go back, the Hindu fundamentalists parties want them to reconvert.”

But the ministry leader readily emphasized that although Christians have been suffering they have not renounced their faith and are continuing to stand strong as followers of Jesus Christ.

“This is the very first time in Indian history that such a long onslaught against Christians has taken place, and in a sustained way,” he observed. “In a way, the government was part of it. They never tried to stop it. They were just silent spectators.”

The global ministry Partners International, which supports local Christian ministries in the least Christian regions of the world, is trying to help provide relief items to the displaced, especially since winter is nearing, Landge informed.

He asks Christians elsewhere to help by praying for those being persecuted, advocating on their behalf in their respective countries, and donating to help physically ease the suffering of those being persecuted

Hindus burn church, Christians in fear
Bruce Loudon, South Asia correspondent | December 27, 2007
Article from: The Australian

POLICE reinforcements were rushed to the Indian state of Orissa yesterday after Hindu mobs burned down 15 Christian churches in the worst outbreak of religious violence in the areasince Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two sons were burned to death eight years ago.

“The situation is desperate and there is fear and anxiety among Christians,” the Reverend Raphael Cheenath, Archbishop of Bhubaneshwar, the state capital, told reporters.

A report in the respected newspaper The Hindu described the situation in the worst affected areas as “a virtual war zone”.

As curfews were imposed in those areas, the state’s Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, made an urgent appeal for calm.

A former close associate of Mr Staines was quoted as saying that the violence showed “the same hatred and trouble is brewing again”.

Most of the violence took place in the Kandhamal district 250km west of the capital, after members of the state’s 800,000-strong Christian community tried to put up a decorative Christmas arch.

About the same time there was an as yet unexplained attack on a leader of the Vishwa Hindu Parisha, which has been leading a campaign against conversions to Christianity in the state, and clashes immediately erupted across a large part of the district, with Catholic as well as Baptist and Pentecostal churches coming under attack.

“Some fundamentalists forcefully removed a Christian welcome arch,” Archbishop Cheenath said. “This was followed by heated arguments.

“Within minutes, a group of people with sticks and knives pounced on the group making preparations for Christmas.”

Soon, according to local reporters, 15 shops had been looted and burned and Christian churches were under attack from a mob screaming “death to all Christians”.

Priests and Christian worshippers were bashed, and there was an unconfirmed report of one death.

Orissa director-general of police Gopal Nath said armed police were being rushed to the area. “The situation is tense but we are trying to get back in control,” he said.

At a time when millions across India - members of the dominant Hindu religion as well as adherents of Christian and other minority faiths - have been celebrating Christmas, the outbreak of violence in Orissa is embarrassing to the strongly secularist Government in New Delhi.

The state of Orissa remains a hotbed of anti-Christian and anti-conversion ferment eight years after Mr Staines and his two sons, Philip and Timothy, were burnt to death in their station wagon in an atrocity by religious extremists that remains seared in Indian consciousness as one of the worst acts of bigotry in the country’s history.

One of Mr Staines’s former co-workers in Orissa, Subhankar Ghosh, told Indian newspapers “the current incidents in Orissa bring back the horrific memories of 1999″ when the Australian missionary and his sons were killed.

“If a man of inferior caste tries to sit down on the same seat as a man of superior caste, he should be branded on the hip and banished, or have his buttocks cut off.” — Manusmrti 8:281.

The above vesrse from Hindu Religious Books is a prime example and very relevant to comprehend their hatred towards the Christians.
Christians in India were Dalits, or untouchables, and to evade oppression, converted to Christianity, which the Hindu Militants refuse to accept.
Anyone of a lower caste is primarily supposed to serve the upper caste, even sexually.

This is The India today:

Anti-Christian Hate Campaigns Fuel Persecution in India

(September 25, 2007) The Washington, DC based human rights group, International Christian Concern (ICC) http://www.persecution.org has learned that Hindu extremist groups have actively been campaigning against Christians for close to a decade, yet there is little the government has done to check what continues to fuel India’s worst incidents of religious persecution.

Often, reporting on Christian persecution in India tends to focus on the incidents, and not the causes, of persecution. Rarely do we see the big picture – that Hindu ultra-nationalists who believe that to be Indian means to be Hindu are taking advantage of the uneducated and waging a hate-filled propaganda campaign against Christians.

Most recently, Hindu extremist groups Bajrang Dal and Hindu Jagruti Samiti distributed thousands of anti-Christian leaflets in Chitradurga district in the southern state of Karnataka last month. This campaign resulted in an incident on August 5, when at least 50 extremists attacked more than 10 workers of the Seventh Day Adventist church during the dedication of a new church in Sira area between Tumkur and Chitradurga districts. On August 16, the victimized Christian workers were arrested on charges of “forcible conversion.”

The trend of launching venomous propaganda campaigns that incite physical attacks against the Christian minority came to fore in 1998 when the Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the political arm of the chief Hindu extremist organization, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), graduated from a party on the margins to a mainstream and ruling party in India.

Soon after the BJP’s accession to power, there was a spate of violence against Christians from December 25, 1998, through January 3, 1999, in the Dangs district of Gujarat state. These attacks included the killing of priests and the raping of nuns to the physical destruction of Christian schools, churches, colleges, and cemeteries. Hundreds of Christians were also forced to “reconvert” to Hinduism. The outbreak of violence in Dangs is typical of how anti-Christian violence is organized in various parts of the country.

According to a report by the Human Rights Watch,“Politics by Other Means: Attacks against Christians in India,” the extremist group Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM) obtained permission to hold a rally on December 25, 1998 in Ahwa town in the Dangs district. Over 4,000 people participated in the rally, shouting anti-Christian slogans while the police stood by and watched. After the rally, the attacks began on Christian places of worship, schools run by missionaries, and shops owned by Christians.

In another incident, Hindu villagers, with the encouragement of a village chief, gang-raped two Christian women after their families refused to denounce Christianity on May 28, 2006 in Nadia village in Bhagwanpura block in Madhya Pradesh state’s Khargone district. A fact-finding report noted,“There have been several attacks against the Christian community since 2003, but the intensity of persecutions increased since May 21, 2006, followed by a rally organized by the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (organization for welfare of tribal people).”

Given that hate campaigns and consequent attacks polarize people along religious lines, the BJP, which portrays itself as the “protector” of Hindus, benefits politically.

ICC research noted that hate campaigns attract several local laws, and yet the media - both local and international, the state and federal governments in India as well as international organizations have a tendency to take note only of “violent incidents” while failing to address the backdrop against which such incidents takes place.

Women raped in Madhya Pradesh for converting to Christianity
Indira Iyengar, a member of the Madhya Pradesh State Minority Commission, explains that the May 28 attack was the act by Hindu fanatics who wanted to punish Tribals from Nadia village, guilty in their eyes of leaving Hinduism for Christianity.

Bhopal (AsiaNews/ICNS) – Women from the village of Nadia “were raped as punishment for changing religion and converting to Christianity”. The authorities, “whether civil, police or the courts failed to listen to the women and give them justice,” said Indira Iyengar, a member of the Madhya Pradesh State Minority Commission.

In an interview she said that the “horrendous crime perpetrated against Christians in Nadia” started last May 28, around 10 pm, when a group of Hindu nationalist fanatics attacked five Christians—two women and three men—and held them for a whole day. The two women were raped and the three men suffered serious gunshot wounds.

The women, Baishi Pokharia and Rekha Gyarsiya, were able to identify their aggressors, Lull@, Nandla, Kalu, Rewal Singh and Sakaram, all of whom, like their victims, are from the same village.

Next morning local leaders from India’s largest party, the Bharatiya Janata Party or BJP, a party that espouses a Hindu nationalist-fundamentalist ideology, reported alleged “mass conversions to Christianity” to the local police due to Christian missionaries coming from neighbouring Maharashtra state.

Even though no clergyman was named in the report, in the charges filed they claimed as proof of their allegations the names of the five who had been attacked the previous day. When the latter eventually made it to the Bhagwanpura police station to press charges against their aggressors they were arrested by Inspector Thakur.

“All this happened because they converted from Hinduism to Christianity,” said Ms Iyengar. “The attack should be punished because, in addition to the violence it entailed, it destroys a fundamental human right. But no one wants to listen to us”.

“We want Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister to know what is going on here. We want this inequality to end. We want to live in safety,” she said.

“We got justice no where,” lamented the five victims, who are from a local tribal community. For her part, one of the two women said that the “police told us that our charges were false. They refused to listen. Now, we have no where to go”.

The above isn’t a repeat post, the earlier posts were of Gujrat, Orissa, etc. This post highlights similar attrocities in the Village of Nadia, it’s different, yet identical.
